Located toward the front of the engine, the Crank Angle Sensor (CAS) keeps track of the rotational position and speed of the crankshaft. Both affect ignition timing and fuel injection volume. Uneven acceleration, reduced gas mileage, and occasional stalling can all be warning signs of a damaged CAS.
